LINk stands for
Local
Involvement
Network -
a local network of individuals, groups and communities who want to volunteer their time to work together to improve local health and social care services.
Thurrock LINk covers all the districts of Thurrock, and is interested in the views and opinions of all who live in Thurrock. Thurrock LINk will create a stronger local voice. We need the expertise of people and groups who use health and social care services and campaigners if we are to reach our full potential.
The LINk will help councils, the NHS and health and social care providers to listen to a wide range of views so that people, groups and organisations can all influence health and social care services in Thurrock.
Local Involvement Networks (LINks) are being set up across the country to help you influence the way your health and social care services are run. Anyone can get involved. Their job is to find out what the public like and dislike about local health and social care. They will then work with the people who plan and run these services to improve them. This may involve talking directly to health care professionals about a service that is not being offered or suggesting ways that an existing service could be made better.
LINks also have powers to help with the tasks and to make sure changes happen.
