Thurrock LINk has identified an opportunity to appoint an Outreach Worker on a short-term contract to assist the Project Manager and Management Committee in further promoting the LINk and local health and social care issues.
The successful candidate would preferably be a Thurrock resident, and certainly have experience and knowledge of the area, its challenges, communities, networks and ultimately its citizens. They would also be a confident and motivated self-starter with excellent interpersonal and organisational skills, who can work well in a small team of employees and volunteers throughout the area, listening to - and helping to represent - the views of local people.
Funding is available for this to be a full-time post, but we recognise that the successful candidate may have other local community involvement and commitments that may limit that, and would consider adjusting this.
The current contract for Thurrock LINk is to 31 March 2011, and therefore this position is only guaranteed until that time.
Closing date for applications: Monday 6 August 2010
Interviews to be held in Grays on Thursday 12 or Friday 13 August 2010
